How I Know There Are More Options for Healing

The human body is an extraordinary landscape and the human brain even more. As much as we think we’ve learned, we know even less. Consciousness, emotions, thoughts--where do they reside? How does the input from our outer world (smell, touch, taste, sight, sound, and proprioception) get translated into these untenable human experiences?

We know a great deal about the cellular and even molecular mechanisms by which various bodily functions abide. And yet, how all of the micro-transactions harmonize to deliver the full depth and breadth of the human experience is still a mystery.

So many illnesses and diseases--they have no cure. Is it because they are incurable? Untreatable? No. It is because we simply do not understand them well enough to develop an answer to their destruction. We may not know the mechanisms well enough. We may not be looking in the right place or for the root cause. Or the complexity of the web of interactions between illness, body, environment, and life simply hasn’t been untangled. Even with all of our volumes of medical literature and scientific studies, there are vast swaths of the human experience, and disease in particular, that we simply do not understand….yet.

Does this mean that we, with incurable, untreatable, chronic illness and disease, or truly any illness or disease, should simply roll over and accept our fate that medicine and science don’t have an answer yet? Or, even if they do, that there is nothing else we should consider or try for our own relief? Our own ease? Our own wellness

Friends, this is our opportunity to try. To explore. To listen to our bodies as never before--to really hear the sound of our breath, to feel the beating of our heart, and to experience our own present moment through all of our senses. Mindfulness, Deep Relaxation, Guided Imagery, and Gratitude are supported by the wisdom of human experience and the rigor of scientific studies and they are the core toolset of Empowered Healing Practices. These practices bring us back to our body, back to the present, where we can heal.

If you are curious and would like to be supported by these practices, I invite you along for the ride.
